2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept

2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept
German specialty marque Artega has debuted an electric variant of its mid-engined GT model called the Artega SE (Sport Electric). This Electric Sports Car Concept was made by a German automaker. At the 81st Geneva Motor Show from 1-13 March 2011, Artega Automobil GmbH & Co. KG will introduce an electric version of its mid-engine sports car. “Our aim is to combine environmental responsibility with the passion for aut omobiles,” said Artega chief executive Peter Muller.
2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept
With this forward-looking project, the company headquartered in Delbruck once again demonstrates the benefits and strengths of its manufacturing plant. Technical expertise and quick decision-making processes have enabled the company to implement a completely new drive concept in a very short period of time. Artega has also cooperated with the Fraunhofer Institute, one of the most competent development partners in the automotive sector. The research organization bought two Artega vehicles more than a year ago to test their feasibility as electrically powered cars.
This sports car is the first car made Artega developed using electrical technology. This electric car was built based Artega GT and has a body that is identical. But 2011 Artega Sport Electric Concept has a weight of 100 kg lighter than the Artega GT, which is 1400 kg.
2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept is powered by two electric motors mounted on the rear axle, operate independently as each drives one of the rear axles, with a total output of 280 kW (380 horsepower) give the car its powerful thrust. The two engines operate independently, with each driving one of the rear wheels. Furthermore, the 2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept comprises 16 tried-and-tested battery modules with lithium ion polymer cells with each of these modules containing 12 battery cells which operate for the most part autonomously.
2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept
Artega claim this concept electric sports car capable of accelerating from 0-100 km / h in just 4.3 seconds or 0.5 seconds faster than the Artega GT Sport gasoline. Unlike electric cars in general, Artega Sport Electric Concept has a top speed of more than 250 km / hour. The entire drive train weight just 150 kilograms. The degree of efficiency is extremely high, namely more than 90%. 2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept is also claimed to cover the distance of 200 km with a full battery condition and with normal driving. While charging the battery only takes 90 minutes through home electrical socket.
Following Mr. Muller’s presentation, Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart will elucidate the technical features of the 2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept. The initials stand for “Sport Electric.” The initiator of the E-mobility project is convinced of the advantages of electrically powered sports cars. “Sports car drivers usually have a very dynamic driving style, with frequent acceleration and braking, which is very energy inefficient. But electric cars recuperate the energy lost through braking and return it to the battery. In addition, unlike combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles convert the full extent of the engine torque immediately, which makes driving them a completely new, very dynamic experience.”
2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept
“Our goal is to combine environmental responsibility with a passion for cars,” said Artega Automobil GmbH & Co. CEO Peter Müller in company press releases. Artega is weighing the possibility of taking SE for production as the company has a total production capacity of 500 units per year at facilities in Delbrück, Germany.
2011 Artega Sports Cars SE Electric Concept
Artega is able to offer the exclusive SE at the attractive price of 150,000 euros. This price lies between that of existing first-generation sports cars and the anticipated price of mass-produced electric sports cars that have been announced by the major manufacturers. The Artega will always remain an exclusive product. The factory in Delbruck will manufacture no more than 500 sports cars per year.

2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid

2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid
BMW is now concentrating on the development of the first cars to wear the “i” logo, hybrid range-extended and full-electric plug-in vehicles. 2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid is based on the 2009’s Vision Efficient Dynamics concept model, undergoing cold weather tests in Northern Europe.
2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid
BMW also unveiled a revised version of that model, called the Vision ConnectedDrive Concept, during this year’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The i8 plug-in hybrid sports car is scheduled to arrive in the market in 2013.
The 2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid is one of two vehicles BMW has planned for its new green-minded “i” sub-brand. First to arrive will be the BMW i3, a compact 4-seat electric vehicle intended for urban driving. Further up the price and performance scale, the i8 will be powered by a hybrid system incorporating a small gasoline-powered engine—though the exact specifics and power output have not yet been released.
BMW has promised that the performance of the 2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid will be in keeping with that of the brand’s other sports models. Other vehicles will then be added to the “i” lineup after the launch of the i3 and i8.
2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid
Lightweight materials—like carbon fiber and aluminum—will make up a big part of the 2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid’s structure. This should help to offset the weight of the lithium-ion battery pack and other high-tech hardware beneath the car’s skin. Regenerative braking and BMW’s stop-start system (which turns off the engine when the car is stopped, and then restarts it automatically when acceleration is needed) will almost certainly be included in the 2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid.
2013 BMW Sports Cars Coupe i8 Hybrid
BMW R&D chief Klaus Draeger revealed that the diesel unit will be replaced with a gasoline engine in the production model but while the electric motors will remain. “We want to sell it all over the world. Diesel is only really relevant to Europe,” Draeger was quoted as saying.

2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S

2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S
MAHWAH, N.J., February 22, 2011 – Jaguar will launch the new Jaguar XKR-S at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1, 2011. 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S is the most extreme expression yet of Jaguar's passion for building beautiful, fast cars.  With a higher output supercharged V8 engine, revised suspension, and a new aerodynamically-driven design, the Jaguar XKR-S expresses the company's long held duality of purpose: GT luxury with incredible performance.
The 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S get preety look with Metallic Smurf example looks nothing if not more imposing, thanks largely to the additional vents feeding the supercharged V8. Jaguar notes that this is the most powerful and fastest production sports car it’s ever offered.
2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S
A revised fuelling map means the direct-injection powerplant now produces 550PS and 680Nm of torque. Extensive recalibration has ensured that power delivery and performance are seamless, contributing to a 0-60mph time of 4.2 seconds, and a Vmax bumped out to 186 mph. The Performance active exhaust encourages and rewards the enthusiastic driver with dramatic, motorsport-inspired aural feedback.
2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S
"The XKR-S is a bold and exciting new model for Jaguar," said Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar's new Global Brand Director. "We expect to attract both loyal and new Jaguar driving enthusiasts who still want the comfort, opulence and class only a Jaguar can offer, combined with inspirational performance."
The 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S produces 550 hp with 502 lb/ft of torque, offers a top speed of 186mph (300km/h), and can accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds. Full details, images and video of the 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S will be released at the Geneva Motor Show press day on March 1, 2011.
The Jaguar XKR-S also required aerodynamic modifications to achieve its 300kph top speed in the unruffled manner expected of a Jaguar and has been designed solely with an eye for purity of line and singularity of purpose. As the XKR-S approaches its top speed, there is a requirement to channel air cleanly over, around and under the car in order to maintain stability and ensure balanced downforce front and rear. An overall reduction in lift of 26 per cent has been achieved.
The performance of the 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S is reflected in both its interior and exterior styling, which feature exclusive new paint colours that reflect Jaguar's racing heritage. As with competition Jaguars of the past, the exterior of the 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S adheres to the principle of form following function. In addition to the styling changes and in order for it to achieve 300kph, the XKR-S was the subject of extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics development work. The resulting changes reduced front and rear lift by more than a quarter and optimised lateral aerodynamic stability.
2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S
The performance intent of the 2012 Jaguar Sport Cars XKR-S is clear from the moment the driver enters the cabin thanks to new cosseting Performance seats with prominent shoulder wings for close support during hard cornering. The seats feature 16-way adjustment, memory and heating functions while a new three-spoke steering wheel provides the perfect interface between car and driver.
